Welcome to my site. Let me start off by telling you that I didn't always want to be a photographer. Actually, I went to college to be a nurse. But then life happened. I got married and had a baby. Suddenly being a nurse didn't fit in anymore. I discovered a true passion . . . that was the world of photography.
I always thought photography was a hobby, and it is to an extent! But then it dawned on me that there are people that get paid for doing something they love! I enrolled in the New York Institute of Photography, one of the country's oldest photography schools. I also mentored with some local photographers in the area; there was nothing like firsthand experience to hone my skills. And in late 2006, Savvy Photo was created.
I love photographing people! I am like most new mothers with a thousand pictures of my baby. But when I look back at some of the professional pictures I have . . . I am often disappointed.
Like my own wedding photos, for instance. They are beautiful and a wonderful friend did them. But there are many photos that I don't have of my wedding day such as photos of getting ready and outdoor pictures. I want brides to have these pictures (weather cooperating) and I want you to have every picture you could imagine taken. As well as with portraits, I don't have an in-home studio. I find that babies, children, and everyone really do so much better in their own environment and surroundings. This is why I love outdoor family portraits and on-location sessions.
In early 2009, my lifelong friend, Alison Patterson joined Savvy Photo. She has assisted me with dozens of weddings and it finally dawned on us that it was time to stop doing it by myself...time to be a team! So be prepared for lots of changes in the near future as Savvy Photo looks to become bigger and better!
Sincerely,
Kristina & Alison
